Sujin Lim
Sujin Lim was born in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She creates sculptures and site-specific performances that relate to socio-political issues and are accompanied by video documentation. She has had five solo exhibitions in Korea and Switzerland, and her works have been selected for the BIENALSUR, International Biennial of Contemporary Art of the South at the MARCO Museum of Art, Buenos Aires, AR; the IV Moscow International Biennale for Young Art in Museum of Moscow; and exhibitions including at the Bauhaus-Museum, Schiller Museum, Germany and Seoul Museum of Arts, South Korea. Sujin Lim won the Contemporary Talents 9th Edition of the Francois Schneider Foundation in France and the Dave Bown Projects 12th Competition Award of Excellence. She has been selected for residencies including the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, the McColl Center, the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, at the Changdong Studio run by the National Museum of Contemporary Art Korea. Lim has been commissioned on a number of site-specific projects and public art projects from the city of Santa Clarita, the city of Cedar Falls, the city of Ottawa, the city of Decatur, the Prince George’s County, and the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History.
