Latrelle Maria Rostant

Latrelle Maria Rostant is a toolmaker and textile artist who focuses on weaving, currently living in Bowie, Maryland. Born in Port-Of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, she and her mother immigrated to the United States when she was a child. With a BFA in Textiles and Masters in Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design, Latrelle recently completed her MFA in Fiber and Martial Studies at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she was a recipient of the James Nelson Raymond Fellowship. Within her textile practice, Latrelle works to understand how her own cultural understanding is reflected in how and what she makes.
