Lara Felsing
Lara Felsing is an interdisciplinary Métis artist from Northern Alberta, Canada. She has a BFA and an MFA from the Emily Carr University of Art & Design in Vancouver, British Columbia. Lara received the Renée Van Halm + Pietro Widmer Graduation Award for Visual Arts for her thesis exhibition work and is also the recipient of the 2023 Indigenous Scholars Award, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, Government of Canada, Ottawa, ON, 2022 Prix Commémoratif Peter deMarsh Memorial Bursary, Canadian Federation of Forest Owners, Ottawa, ON, and the 2022 Yaxkasei (William Callaghan) Memorial Award, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, Vancouver, BC. Lara has exhibited across Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden and the United States, and in 2023, she was honoured to be a member of the Akunumusǂitis: Ecological Engagement Through The Seasons Residency cohort at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta, Canada.
