Live @ LOW END | Victoria Keddie
Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts
Victoria Keddie is an artist who forensically investigates spaces and re-imagines the ecologies that materials inhabit. Although in varying states of entropy, technologies are still operable, instruments transmit and architecture retains the residue of human existence. Keddie posits how discarded artifacts or vacant constructs within our collective media ecology tell our story.
Keddie is also a curator and educator, having organized exhibitions and events at various institutions including MoMA PS1, Storefront for Art and Architecture, and Pioneer Works. In addition, she is a founding member of the transmission arts collective, E.S.P. TV, which produces live television broadcasts featuring experimental and avant-garde performance art.
Keddie's work has been exhibited and performed at numerous venues in the United States and internationally, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of the Moving Image, and the Museum of Modern Art. She has also been the recipient of various awards and grants, including the NYSCA/NYFA Fellowship in Music/ Sound (2022) and as the INHABIT Artist-in-Residence at the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics, Frankfurt, Germany (2023). She is the Spring 2024 Sound Artist-in-Residence at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts.
