C. Lavender is a Brooklyn, NY based multidisciplinary sound artist, sound healing practitioner, and educator whose work spans live performance, recording, installations, compositions, videos, and workshops. She seeks to create an immersive aural landscape for the listener, an experience that is intensely physical, emotional, and ultimately cathartic.
Free admission. In person attendance RSVP is required.
The performance will also stream live at twitch.tv/bemiscenter. Twitch account not required.

C. Lavender has performed, lectured, and hosted workshops at MoMA, The Whitney, The Guggenheim, The Museum of Moving Image, Hirshhorn Museum, Issue Project Room, The Rubin Museum, The Brooklyn Public Library, The Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Museum of Moving Image, Fridman Gallery, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, among other venues. C. Lavender has albums and recordings featured on the labels Editions Mego, Longform Editions, Ecstatic Peace!, and RVNG Intl. She has been an artist in residence at Pioneer Works, Wave Farm, and Harvestworks. Her debut book “Transcendent Waves: How Listening Shapes Our Creative Lives” about how tuning in to one’s listening skills can foster creativity was published by Anthology Editions in December 2020. clavender.net @clavendr
LOW END is Bemis Center’s music venue and an integral part of the Sound Art + Experimental Music Program. The unique artist-designed space features free live shows by local, national, and international sound artists, composers, and experimental musicians. These performances aim to not only build greater appreciation and new audiences but also to liberate the artists to take risks and present truly avant-garde work.
