Born to Ghanaian parents and raised in the Bronx and Kentucky, Philadelphia’s Kilamanzego (pun: “kill a man’s ego”) is a producer, rapper, songwriter and visual artist whose sound is unparalleled. Inspired by the punk and hip hop scenes she grew up in, she’s known for erasing lines between genres with forward thinking beats infused with touches of west african experimentalism and electronic dance.
In her five years as an artist, her music has been praised by Machinedrum, Anna Lunoe, ROMderful, OddKidOut, NNAMDI, and more. Her work has been featured on NPR, UK’s NTS Radio, and Andrew Huang’s 4 Producers 1 Sample, with live performances at Mad Decent / Brownies & Lemonade and Electric Hawk. Kilamanzego is continually working on new releases while she makes her shining debut as a vocalist over her hypnotic sounds.
